Two boys drown
A schoolboy drowned in a pond at Sukhanpukur Moynatala village in Gabtoli upazila on Friday.
Family sources said Sihab, 7, son of Ilias Akanda while playing near the pond near his house at noon suddenly slipped into it and drowned.
Later, locals found his floating body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy.
Another report from Mymensingh adds: A five-year-old boy drowned in Narasundha river at Chandipasha Natun Bazar in Nadail upazila on Thursday noon.
Family sources said Abdus Samad, son of expatriate Shahjahan while playing on the bank of the river suddenly fell into it at noon.
Hearing his cry for help, locals rescued the victim and rushed him to Nandail hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
