BSF returns bodies of two

Bodies of two Bangladeshi cattle traders shot dead by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on Shingnagar border of Shibganj upazila on Monday night were handed over to BDR on Tuesday night. BSF returned the bodies at about 9:45 pm after a company commander level flag meeting with BDR at Sonamasjid border outpost, said Lt. Col. Zayed Hossain, Commanding Officer of 39 Rifles Battalion, Chapainawabganj. Receiving the bodies, BDR handed them over to Shibganj police and police sent the bodies to Sadar hospital morgue for autopsy. After autopsy the bodies would be handed over to their relatives, police said. The cattle traders were identified as Fatik, 30, son of Tarajol Mia of Parchouka village and Ismail Hossain,25, son of Mkhlesur Rahman of Pialmari village under Monakasha union of Shibganj upazila. BSF personnel at Doulatpur camp of 151 Baishnabpur BSF Battalion under Maldah district in West Bengal opened fire on a group of eight to ten cattle traders while crossing the barbed wire fence on Shingnagar frontier at Shibgonj upazila at around 10:30 pm, killing two on the spot and injuring another. Injured Erashad, 25, son of Momtaj Ali of Pialimari village under the same upazila was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital. The other traders, however, managed to escape the hail from bullets. After the shooting, BSF personnel dragged the dead bodies into their territory.
