Jubo Dal leader murdered

Criminals killed a Jubo Dal leader and injured another person at Khamarpara Bazar in Sharsha upazila on Saturday night. The deceased was identified as Abdul Hamid, 40, son of Abdus Sattar of Paruigupi village and president of Ward No. 7 Jubo Dal Laxmanpur union unit. Police quoting his brother Abdul Aziz said while Hamid along with Mafizur, 35, was returning home from nearby Khamarpara bazar at about 10pm a gang waylaid them. Later, the gang stabbed Hamid indiscriminately and cut the tendons of both his legs. They also stabbed Mafizur grievously as he tried to save Hamid. Hearing their cry for help, locals rushed to the spot and took Hamid to a local hospital. As his condition deteriorated he was shifted to Jessore 250-bed Sadar Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries after sometime. Mafizur was also admitted to a local hospital. A case was filed with the police. Sources said, Hamid and Mafizur were two plaintiffs in the murder case of Saloman Ali, a former Jubo Dal president of Laxmanpur union.
