3 killed in Manikganj
Three people, including a housewife, were killed in separate incidents in Saturia and Sadar upazila yesterday.
Sohel Ahmed, 20, son of Mohammad Younus Ali, of Charkhanda Golra was killed and four other workers of Bashundhara Steel Mill were injured in a gas explosion at Jagir-Golra in Sadar upazila.
Sources said five workers were wounded when a gas cylinder burst with a big bang at the mill at about 11:30am.
The injured were rushed to Manikganj Sadar Hospital in a serious condition. Doctors declared Sohel dead. Four others were admitted to the hospital.
In another incident an unknown sexagenarian man was crushed under the wheels of a vehicle on Dhaka-Aricha highway at Golra in Saturia upazila.
Police said, locals found the body and informed the police. Later, police recovered the body and sent it to the hospital for autopsy.
Bithi Akter, 25, a housewife allegedly committed suicide by taking pesticide as sequel of family feud at Char Hizlain village in Sadar upazila yesterday.
