Two Hizbut Tahrir men arrested
Sylhet Kotwali police arrested two alleged members of Islamist outfit Hizbut Tahrir yesterday while pasting posters of the outlawed orginasation in the city's Taltola and Court area.
Police said they also seized some posters from their possession.
The arrestees are Mehdi Hassan, 23, of Dargah gate and Jumman Chowdhury, 22, of Lamabazar in the city.
Mehdi is a student of first year at Scholars' Home School and College and Jumman is a student of first year honours at Madan Mohan College of Sylhet.
They were carrying posters which called for establishing Khelafat. Rejecting restoration of the 1972 constitution it said neither democracy nor autocracy, Khelafat is the lone Islamic system of administration.
