RU students agitate
Female students of different departments at Rajshahi University on Monday launched a mass signature campaign demanding expulsion of a student for allegedly sexually harassing a female student.
The students also held a rally in front of Munnujan Hall where a fourth year student of RU economics department allegedly sexually harassed a third year female student of the same department a few months ago.
The victim has become mentally ill. The culprit tortured her on and often, the students told the rally. The victim's mother alleged that the boy is still threatening the family and creating pressure on them to marry her daughter.
Speakers at the rally called upon the vice chancellor for immediate expulsion of the culprit.
They also threatened tougher agitation on the campus if their demand is not met without further delay.
