A shocked father died for his son in Sherpur on Tuesday while a son killed his father over a trivial matter in Kishoreganj yesterday. In Sherpur, owner of a small shop died of cardiac failure as police arrested his 18-year-old son without warrant at Kaida village in Nakla upazila Tuesday night, reports UNB. Mokbul Hossain, 45, who worked in Saudi Arab for more than a decade and now settled at home, fainted as police dragged his son Saifuddin out of the shop adjacent to their home at about 11:30pm. Rushed to Nakla Hospital, doctors declared Mokbul dead. Protesting police atrocity, villagers yesterday demonstrated in front of Nakla police station. After preliminary investigation, assistant sub-inspector Abdur Razzak who arrested Saifuddin was closed to the Police Lines. Saifuddin was set free soon after his father rushed to the hospital. In Kishoreganj, a young man allegedly killed his father over a trivial matter at Jawar Purbapara village in Tarail upazila yesterday, reports a correspondent. Police and locals said, Bulbul Bhuiyan, 78, had seven sons. Of them Haris, 30, was an addict. Yesterday Haris locked in an altercation with father over a trivial matter. At one stage he swooped on his father and chopped to death. On information, police rushed to the spot and arrested Haris.
