Student's death sparks protest
Death of a college student in a road accident sparked protest at Borhanuddin in Lalmohan upazila on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Raqibul Hasan, an HSC 2nd year student of the Char Fashion College.
Police quoting locals said, when Raqibul along with his friend Riad reached Borhanuddin near Lalmohan Daory Bazar in a motorbike, a bus of Madras Paribahan hit them, leaving Raqibul dead on the spot and Riad injured.
As the news spread the agitated students of the collegebrought out a procession and blocked Daory Bazar road demanding punishment of the killer driver. They also vandalised four buses on the road disrupting traffic movement for 5/6 hours.
