RU debate contest concludes
A four-day inter-department debate contest concluded at Rajshahi University (RU) yesterday.
Accounting and information system department won the champion's trophy while folklore department became the runner-up.
RU Vice-Chancellor Prof Abdus Sobhan distributed the award as the chief guest. Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Muhammad Nurullah, Dean of Business Studies Faculty Prof M Shah Newaz Ali, students adviser Prof Golam Sabbir Sattar spoke at the function.
Speakers urged the young generation to look at things logically and not to accept anything without verifying it through logic to establish truth in every sphere of life and society.
They also urged the university authorities to gear up extra-curricular activities for the students so that they can flourish their talent.
The vice-chancellor in his speech assured that the authorities would provide all-out support for flourishing talent of the students.
A total 24 debate teams from several departments of the university took part in the contest.
The organisers also arranged a workshop on debate where teams from several departments and institutes participated.
