12 out of 18 picked up by Indian Khasias returned
Indian immigration police handed over 12 out of 18 Bangladeshis, who were picked up by Indian Khasia people with the help of BSF from Dauki Market near Tamabil check post Thursday afternoon, to Bangladesh immigration police on Friday.
Bangladesh immigration police received them at Tamabil check post and on Amswapnapur border. Those returned home through Tamabil border are Maya Rani Das, Jahan Ara Begum, Nazma Begum, Asia Begum, Rahima Begum, Habiza, Salma Begum, Ratibala Das and Mamata Begum.
Names of three others who returned home through Amswapnapur border could not be known. Indian authorities sent the remaining six Bangladeshis to jail hajat at Jowai in Jainta hill district. They went to Dauki Bazar Thursday afternoon for buying goods.
The incident took place a day after Bangladesh border guards arrested an Indian khasia on charge of intruding into Bangladesh territory in Jaintapur.
He was later produced in a Sylhet court that sent him to jail.
