4 electrocuted in 3 dists

Four people have been electrocuted in Mymensingh and Lalmonirhat and Dinajpur districts. A boy died and his father was seriously injured from electrocution at Ramkrishnapur village in Nandail upazila of Mymensingh early Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Ahad Mia, 12, a class seven student of Madhupur Madrassa and son of Abul Kashem, 45, of the village, reports UNB. Witnesses said, Ahad while working in a cucumber field beside his house suddenly came in contact with a snapped electric wire and died instantly at around 6:00am. Abul Kashem also sustained serious injuries when he tried to save his son. He was admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where his condition was stated to be critical. In Lalmonirhat, two people were electrocuted at Khordo Bisondoi village of Dawabari union in Hatibandha upazila on Tuesday morning, reports a correspondent. The victims were identified as Reazul Islam, 52, and Laily Begum, 55, of the same village. Police said, Reazul was electrocuted as he came in contact of an electric wire at his homestead. Laily Begum was also electrocuted as she touched Reazul Islam. Both were rushed to Hatibandha upazila health complex but the doctors declared them dead. A man was electrocuted in Bahadur Bazaar area of Dinajpur town on Thursday night, reports UNB. The deceased was identified as Azizul Huq, 42 son of Khatir Uddin, hailed from Dogachhi village in Biral upazila. Witnesses said the incident ocurred while Azizul was repairing an electric wire in the area. He was rushed to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital the same night where he died next morning. Police handed over the body of Azizul to his relatives of after autopsy.
