7 Pabna frauds land in jail

Seven frauds were arrested in Pabna town on Sunday night on charge of taking money from at least 20 people in the name of giving job in army On intelligence report, army and Rab personnel raided a residential hotel at traffic intersection in the town at around 10:00pm and arrested three people. Following their confessions, army and Rab men conducted joint drives in different areas of the town and arrested the rest four. The arrestees are Tofazzal Hossain, 24, of Bolorampur village in Sadar upazila, Bachchu Biswas, 42, of Vatkia village and Anisur Rahman, 35, of Charboalia village in Sujanagar upazila of Pabna district, Mejbahul Almgir, 28, of Komorpur village, Jamal Uddin, 44, of Salmatpur village in Faridpur district, Habibur Rahman, 33, of Akua village in Mymensingh district and Humayun Kabir, 45, of Azizia village in Chittagong district. The army and Rab personnel also recovered some revenue stamps from the arrestees. Rab sources said the arrestees deceived at least 20 job seekers before an army recruitment that held at Pabna Stadium on Sunday. Major Abdur Rahman filed a case with Pabna Sadar Police Station on behalf of the army recruiting team the same night. The arrestees were yesterday produced in a court that sent them to jail, police said.
