<i>Thousands watch boat race in Narail</i>
A traditional boat race was held in Kalia upazila of Narail district on Saturday.
Organised by Arunima Country Side and Golf Resort, six boats participated in the race that began from the confluence of the Modhumoti and Nabaganga at 4:00pm and ended at Arunima-Modhumoti ferry ghat in Panipara .
Thousands of people gathered on the riverbank to witness the event. Delegates from BBC and local Journalists covered the event and also took snaps of the race.
Khabir Uddin Ahmed, president of TRIAB, Khan Shamimur Rahman, Kalia upazilla chairman, Md Adnan Hossain of Tiger Tours Ltd and local elite were among the guests.
Tim Steel from the United Kingdom, who is working to promote tourism in Bangladesh, said this kind of colourful event is one of the major tourist attractions.
