Bail prayers of six Shibir men rejected
District and Sessions Judge of Sylhet Md Momin Ullah yesterday rejected the bail prayers of six Shibir leaders and sent them to the jail hajat in a case filed in connection with clash with BCL men. The court, however, granted bail to 38 others.
The court rejected bail prayers of MC College unit president-Yasin Khan, Sylhet Government College unit president-Asaduzzaman Shahin and general secretary-Khairul Islam, MC College hostel unit president Manzur Alam, city unit's organising secretary-Mahmudur Rahman Delwar and finance Secretary Manzur Ahmed.
The aforesaid 44 earlier got bail from High Court. As the bail period ended they appeared before the district judge court yesterday and sought fresh bail.
The clash between BCL and Shibir took place on the Sylhet Government College on February 18 this year, leaving around 30 injured.
