Workers, security men clash at Benapole port
At least five people were injured in a series of clashes between security personnel and agitated workers of Benapole port who were being deprived of their wages on time.
Unloading of goods at the port remained suspended for one hour as the workers refrained from their duties during the period.
According to port authorities, a discord was developed when workers demanded payment of their arrear wages from the port authorities on the eve of Pahela Baishakh. But the port authorities disagreed to fulfill workers' demands.
