10 sued for war crimes in C'nawabganj, Satkhira
Ten alleged collaborators of Pakistani occupation forces have been sued for war crimes in Chapainawabganj and Satkhira districts.
Six alleged collaborators of Pakistani occupation forces were sued yesterday for killing a man at Rehaichar in Chapainawabganj town in 19 71, According to our correspondent,
The accused are Nazrul Islam, 80, Saidur Rahman, 60, Fazlur Rahman, 85, Latifur alias Luka, 75, bishu, 85, and Nazrul Islam Fuka, 80. They all are from Rehaichar area of Chapainawabganj town.
Rahima Begum, 68, wife of late Giasuddin filed a petition case with the Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court, accusing the six of killing her husband in on September 15, 1971.
In the petition, the complainant stated that the accused picked up her husband Giasuddin from their house, took him to Mohononda Char near the town and shot him dead.
The court ordered the officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station to investigate the matter and take necessary legal steps.
Our Satkhira correspondent reported that a petition case was filed with the Judicial Magistrate's Court here on Sunday against four alleged razakars for killing, looting and arson in Debhata upazila during Liberation War.
The accused are Jabed Ali Sana, 65, son of Sobed Ali Sana of Nazirergher village, Aziz Moral, 62, son of Alam Moral of Shanta village, Badar Ali Moral, 67, son of Madar Ali Moral of North Parulia and Abdul Hannan, son of Taraf Ali Moral of Garerdanga village in Debhata upazila, court sources said.
Nurul Islam Shahji, son of martyred freedom fighter Nur Ali Shahji of Uttar Parulia village in Debhata upazila filed the case with the court, accusing the four of killing his father at Naihati village on October 22 in 1971.
In the petition, the complainant stated that on the fateful day when his father came to house to meet his family members, the accused attacked their house, looted cash and other valuables and set the house afire.
They, later, took his father to a nearby bush and shot him dead, the complainant added.
