Tiger kills fisherman
A Royal Bengal Tiger killed a fisherman while he was fishing in Khalshibunia canal in the Sundarbans on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Abdus Samad Khokon, 50, son of Sabir Uddin Gazi of No 9 Sora village under Shyamnagar upazila.
Quoting locals police said Khokon along with others went to Khalshibunia canal near Kalagachhia in the Sundarbans.
While catching fish in the canal, a Royal Bengal Tiger swooped on him and dragged him deeper into the forest, police added.
Locals recovered his body from deeper into the forest later on.
When contact, Officer-in-Charge Fazlur Rahman of Shyamnagar Police Station confirmed the incidents.
