Suspected JMB man arrested
Police arrested a suspected member of Islamist militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) at Chowranga village in Faridganj Upazila on Friday morning.
The arrestee is identified as Maulana Abdur Rashid, 60, an Imam of a mosque of the village.
Acting on secret information, police conducted a raid at the village and nabbed Abdur Rashid.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Faridganj police station Abul Kalam Azad said they arrested him on the basis of specific information about his link with the JMB.
He was produced in the court which rejected his bail prayer and sent to jail.
