Flash flood in Netrakona
At least five hundred hectares of boro standing crop were flooded in last 24 hours due to onrush of hill waters from across the border. The affected areas are Jalor haor, Badiarchor, Lamar haor and low-lying areas of Khaliajuri upazila. Netrakona WDB sources said, the water level of the river Dhanu is rising. The six flood protection embankments-- Kirtonkhola, Ranichapur, Chowthar Bandh, Lepshia, Pairer Badh and Selapara Bandh in Khaliajuri upazila are seriously threatened by the floodwaters.
