Lockdown at East Rajabazar from Tuesday night

East Rajabazar area of Dhaka will be locked down as a red zone from Tuesday night to contain the spread of coronavirus.

The lockdown would be enforced from midnight as per the direction of the authorities concerned, local Ward Commissioner Faridur Rahman Khan Iran told The Daily Star.

"We have been taking preparation for the last three days to enforce the lockdown," he said.

Steps have been taken for supplying food items and transportation of patients, and prepared coronavirus testing booths and isolation centre for around 50,000 dwellers in the area, Iran said.
