What a mess!

The repairing and upgrading of the main streets and a few by lanes of the Uttara Sector 7 mosque road and Rajuk Commercial Building area has been going on for several months. New footpaths have been built but stone carpeting is yet to be finished except in about a 50-metre stretch of the street east of the mosque.

The rainy season has already set in and it is important to complete the unfinished work without further delay. Meanwhile the newly constructed footpaths have been occupied by vendors again. Construction materials and debris are everywhere, forcing pedestrians to use the roads instead of the footpaths. The authorities should immediately look into this matter and take corrective measures.
