People should change abhorrent habits

We speak so ambitiously about the so-called 'green revolution' but that is not only dependent on technology but also on the lifestyles of ordinary citizens. Any resident of Bangladesh knows of the abhorrent habits that we all have -- the ease and extent to which we dispose of or burn trash on the street, leave tap water running or lights on etc. Before we speak of achieving milestones in cutting down on greenhouse emissions, maybe we should take a step back and introspect how we, on an individual level, are contributing to the atrocious environmental conditions in our daily lives. It is futile to talk about aspirations of green technological revolution if we, as citizens, refuse to change our destructive ways.
