Earthquake preparedness

As Bangladesh is one of the riskiest countries for earthquake, we should be aware of how to stay safe during an earthquake. First, make a plan with your family and friends how to be prepared for an earthquake. Prepare a bag with these items: flashlight, batteries, blanket, rope, duct tape, dry food, candy bar, a water bottle, a small first aid kit, a whistle, some money, ID card and a photo of your family members
Be sure to follow these steps during an earthquake

  • Go under a sturdy table or a sturdy beam in the building you are in.
  •  Next, hold tight to a leg of the table or the beam.
  •  Be sure your head is covered.
  •  When the earthquake stops, wait for a few minutes, then leave the building. Wait 30 minutes before returning inside.
