“35 hurt as students, cops clash over VAT”
(September 10, 2015)
Afroza Amy
Education is our right and no one should pay any
VAT for his/her right.
Shahinul Alam
The government should withdraw this VAT because ultimately, the students are the ones who will have to bear the brunt of this.
Md Sohel
VAT on education is completely unacceptable. It's totally discriminatory. The students of private universities are fully self-financed whereas students of public universities are almost fully financed by public funds. Whereas MPs can get luxury cars without paying VAT, imposing tax on people's basic need,
i.e. education, is complete nonsense.

Will it now stop some government employees from taking bribes?
Sadman Bin Ornab
Taking bribes is a disease and the only antibiotic that will probably work here is disciplinary action. And what about the non-government employees' salary increase? They are still the majority.
