Death toll from measles, symptoms rise to 475 with 11 deaths in 24 hours

Eleven more patients died from measles and measles-like symptoms in 24 hours (till 8:00 am today), taking the total number of confirmed and suspected measles deaths to 475.

Of the 11, two are confirmed measles deaths, according to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With the two deaths, the total number of confirmed measles deaths rose to 77. Both deaths were reported from the Barishal division, according to DGHS.

With nine more suspected measles deaths reported during the same period, the total number of such deaths is now 398.

Of the latest suspected measles deaths, three each were reported from Dhaka and Sylhet divisions, and one each from Chattogram, Mymensingh and Khulna divisions.

Besides, the DGHS recorded 1,264 new suspected cases in 24 hours, bringing the total to 56,586.
