3 Covid-19 deaths reported in 24hrs, positivity rate now 3.89%

Three people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00 am today (August 24, 2022), said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country is currently 29,319 and the death rate stands at 1.46 percent.

At least 167 new coronavirus cases were recorded during this period.

The daily positivity rate is 3.89 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.66 percent.

With the new infections, the total number of cases rose to 20,10,490, the release added.

A total of 4,293 samples were tested across the country during this period.

At least 235 Covid-19 patients have recovered within this time. The total number of recoveries now stands at 19,54,585 and the recovery rate at 97.22 percent, said the release.

Of the deceased, one was a man and two were female. One of them was aged between 31-40 years and two others were between 61-80 years old, added the release.
