11 die at RMCH Covid unit in 24 hours

Eleven people died at the Covid unit of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital in 24 hours till 8am today.

Of the deceased, seven were Covid-19 positive and the rest died with symptoms, our Rajshahi staff correspondent reports quoting RMCH Director Brig Gen Shamim Yazdani.

Four among the seven who died of Covid-19 were from Rajshahi and one each from Naogaon, Pabna and Kushtia.

During 24 hours, 94 samples were tested at RMCH lab through RT-PCR testing and 67 of them came positive while 92 were tested at Rajshahi Medical College lab and 37 of them were Covid-19 positive, Brig Gen Yazdani said.

The current positivity rate in the district is 65.3 percent.

A total of 57 people was admitted to the coronavirus unit of RMCH in 24 hours till 8am today. With them, 419 are being treated at the unit. Thirty-seven patients left the hospital after recovery.
