'Kacher Manush Dure Thuiya' wins Best Popular Film

Acclaimed director Shihab Shaheen's "Kacher Manush Dure Thuiya" has clinched the Best Film Award in the Popular category at the "Blender's Choice-The Daily Star OTT & Digital Content Awards 2024," being held at the Bangladesh China Friendship Conference Center (BCFCC).

The third edition of the awards honoured the finest in digital entertainment, and Shaheen's film stood out for its emotional depth and wide appeal. Co-written by Shaheen and Jahan Sultana, the story traces the struggles of a long-distance couple as love frays under the weight of suspicion, resentment, and heartbreak—only to find its way back through reconciliation.

The film also took home multiple honours, including Best Lyricist for Sadat Hossain, Best Singers for Mahtim Shakib and Sanzida Mahmood Nandita, and Best Music Composer for Emon Chowdhury.

The cast features Tasnia Farin, Pritom Hasan, and Rupanty Akid, whose performances anchored the film's emotional resonance.

In a fiercely competitive field, "Kacher Manush Dure Thuiya" triumphed over strong contenders including "Forget Me Not", "Last Defenders of Monogamy", "Maya", "Osomoy", "Ararat", "Golam Mamun", "Kaalpurush", "Rongila Kitab", and "Sinpaat".
