Indian National Film Awards: Allu Arjun, Alia Bhatt, Kriti Sanon win big
The 69th edition of the prestigious Indian National Film Awards was unveiled during a press conference held in New Delhi today.
Bollywood powerhouses Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon jointly claimed the coveted Best Actress award for their stellar portrayals in the critically acclaimed films "Gangubai Kathiawadi" and "Mimi," respectively.
Meanwhile, Allu Arjun secured the Best Actor honour for his outstanding performance in the blockbuster hit "Pushpa: The Rise," marking the first-ever National Award triumph for all three talented actors.
"Rocketry: The Nambi Effect" soared high as it won the title of Best Film at this year's awards ceremony. Notably, Pankaj Tripathi, Kriti's co-star in "Mimi," bagged the Best Supporting Actor award, while Pallavi Joshi was honored as the Best Supporting Actress for her remarkable role in "The Kashmir Files," which also took home the distinction of Best Film on National Integration.
The accolades continued to pour in as "RRR" seized a plethora of awards, including the esteemed title of Best Popular Film.
"Gangubai Kathiawadi" and Sardar Udham, which was named Best Hindi Film, also won several awards. The movie "Shershaah" was also recognized with a Special Jury award.
The announcement of the feature film awardees was gracefully delivered by the head of the jury, acclaimed filmmaker Ketan Mehta.
The honor of receiving the National Awards will be bestowed by President Droupadi Murmu in a splendid ceremony later in the year, adding a dignified touch to the celebratory occasion.
Last year's distinguished recipients included Suriya and Ajay Devgn, who jointly got the Best Actor accolade for their brilliant performance in "Soorarai Pottru" and "Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior."
