I wanted to be a doctor, but ended up becoming an actress
Sweet and bubbly Keya Payel rose through the ranks with numerous hit tele-fictions and commercials. The talented actress, who debuted into the world of showbiz with Afran Nisho, became a prominent name within short span of time.
In a candid conversation with The Daily Star, the "Pagol Tor Jonno" star talks about her upcoming ventures, films, and more.
You debuted in tele-fiction with Afran Nisho. How much did he support you as a newcomer?
Afran Nisho is an extremely supportive co-artiste, and he is also a wonderful human being. In my first tele-fiction, I had the chance to play the protagonist, and that too, with the best in the business in "Ektai Amar Tumi".
When did you realise that you wanted to be an actress?
I never had any dreams or aspirations to be part of showbiz. I started off by working in a commercial and then later on, decided to act in tele-fictions as well. The turning point in my were the years 2020-2021. I worked in numerous tele-fictions in these 2 years. I always wanted to be a doctor, but ended up becoming an actress!
You have acted in one film so far. What are your dreams for the silver screen?
My first film was Joy Sarker's "Indubala". I really liked the plot and the character, as it really touched my heart. I have high dreams and aspirations regarding movies, but I will only select the ones which will intrigue me an artiste.
Why do you think new artistes get lost in the mix, when it comes to this industry?
One needs to love this profession with full on dedication and passion, to sustain in this industry. If you are committed towards your work, you will succeed in this field. I came into acting simply out of love, and that love increases every day.
What do you have in store for 2022?
I am ecstatic that that my tele-fiction "Sheydin Brishti Hobe" opposite Apurbo was showcased on ATN Bangla, on the first day of 2022. My schedule is already packed, and I am looking forward to delivering a few surprises this year!
