After ruling over the screen with hits like "Monpura" and "Aynabaji", Chanchal Chowdhury is winning hearts with his new film, "Paap Punyo". Alongside local theatres, the film has released on many international screens as well.

We caught up with Chanchal over the phone to know more about his expectations from "Paap Punnp", his experience with the project, and upcoming releases.

Your film is running at the theatres at the moment. What are your expectations from this production?

Every new film comes as a new experience for me. Only an actor can enjoy the essence of multiple lives, as they are reborn as a new being with every new character they play on the screen.

I nurture each role I play with the same affection, dedication and effort. I only hope love and affection from my viewers and "Paap Punyo" is no different.

"Paap Punyo" has not just been released in the local theatres but the film has made it to lot of screens internationally.

This is a great achievement not just for me, but also for this nation. However, with great achievement, comes greater responsibilities. To keep up this momentum, there is no alternative to ensuring good quality in future works.

How does it feel to know that this film will be reaching an international audience?

I have received calls from abroad. They said that they want to achieve a hattrick by showing "Paap Punyo" after "Aynabaji" and "Debi". This call made my day!

I have seen the film on the big screen too, and I really liked it. The storyline is quite strong, and so is the production quality. Gias Uddin Selim has done an excellent job while the artistes have performed brilliantly. I hope this film hits the mark as it does have the potential.

Would you like to share anything about the promotions of "Paap Punyo"?

Promotion is an inevitable episode of the journey of a film. The masses must be informed about a project and I have tried my best to let my followers and fans know about "Paap Punyo".

It feels good when friends and colleagues come forward and share their views after watching a film and I expect that from our industry too. A little appreciation can empower one to walk a long way, hitting the mile mark in the future.

Many have visited the theatres and are now promoting the film on my behalf. I would like to thank them wholeheartedly.

Tell us something about your character in the film. Does the character of Khorshed Chairman still reside in you?
Not really. I bid farewell to Khorshed Chairman as soon as we wrapped up the shooting for "Paap Punyo". Nevertheless, Khorshed Chairman managed to reside in the minds of my fans – they will remember it, and that's what I consider to be my biggest achievement.
