Bogura to host sixth International Film Festival
The sixth edition of the Bogura International Film Festival (BIFF) will be held from January 8 to 10, 2026, at Madhuban Cineplex in Bogura. The festival is organised by the Pundranagar Film Society, Bogura. This year's event will showcase 71 films from 32 countries across five categories.
The festival will feature entries under the categories of short film, feature film, documentary, animated film, and open-door short. Winners will be selected in each category, with awards including crests, certificates, and cash prizes.
Separate jury boards will be formed for each category, consisting of experienced filmmakers, film scholars, and curators from home and abroad. The panel includes Bangladeshi filmmakers Khandaker Sumon, Mohammad Rakibul Hasan, Ontu Azad, cinematographer Sheikh Rajibul Islam, and Dr Shariful Islam, Assistant Professor at the Department of Media and Communication, North South University.
International jurors include Russian film expert Sergei Anashkin, filmmakers Alexander Moroz (Russia) and Maryam Ghasemi (Iran), Indian film curator Shantanu Ganguly, and Santosh Subedi, Chairperson of the Nepal Cultural International Film Festival, among others.
