26 years later, Maqsood and Prince Mahmud collaborate once again
Noted musician Maqsoodul Haque, from the band Maqsood O Dhaka, lent his voice to a new song "Shatey-Panchey" composed by renowned music director and lyricist Prince Mahmud.
The last collaboration between Prince and Maqsood took place over 26 years ago—when the album "Khawma" was released in 1996. The album was a compilation of tracks from different bands and is still considered as the 'best-mixed' band album of the 90s.

Rupankar Bagchi accused of stealing song
After facing brutal levels of criticism for his comments against KK, Indian singer Rupankar Bagchi has once again stirred up controversy. The singer has been accused of stealing a song from rising artiste Manorama Ghoshal.
After KK's death, a musical programme was arranged on May 31. On that same day, Rupankar took to a Facebook live, mocking the deceased icon saying, "Who is KK man?"

Music for a cause: Over 20 bands and musicians rock TSC
"My bus ticket was done and I was all packed to leave for Khulna with my friends, this afternoon. But I cancelled everything as I came across a Facebook post for this event only an hour before leaving for the bus terminal."
This was the story shared by Rakibul Hasan, a music enthusiast and student of Stamford University, who cancelled all of his plans to come and show support at “Bornattoder Jonno Concert” an event organized by Dhaka University (DU) students to raise funds for flood victims in Sylhet and Sunamganj.
Not only Rakibul, but thousands of music lovers and social activists, from different walks of life gathered at TSC, University of Dhaka on Monday and Tuesday to enjoy some amazing performances and express their solidarity for the cause.

RD Burman’s five timeless hits
Rahul Dev Burman was born on June 27, 1939, to revered musicians Sachin Dev Burman and Meera Dev Barman. Both father and son revolutionised the Indian film music industry, composing several hit songs that would touch the hearts and souls of millions.
R D Burman, nicknamed Pancham, started composing music from an early age. He wrote his first song “Aye Meri Topi Palat Ke Aa” at the tender age of nine. This song was later used by his father in the 1956 movie “Funtoosh”.

It has been more than eight years since then, and Chitropot has composed multiple originals including “Ekhane Somoy Katena”, “Brishti Tumi” and “Jabo Megher Deshe”.
