Qinetic Music teams up with Tanishk Bagchi

By Arts & Entertainment Desk

Qinetic Music has announced the release of a new single, “Shohag”, marking a high-profile collaboration with Bollywood hitmaker Tanishk Bagchi and featuring Ivorian singer KikiMoteleba.

For Bagchi, the project signals a meaningful return to Bangladesh. Before becoming one of Bollywood’s most-streamed composers, his professional journey began in the country with a debut album released through Ektaar Music in 2007. Eighteen years on, “Shohag” brings him back to those roots, this time with a sound shaped by global pop sensibilities.

The music video for “Shohag” is directed by Thejo Bharathwaj, known for visually striking independent projects. His cinematic approach adds a strong narrative layer to the song, aligning with the track’s international ambition.

Musically, “Shohag” blends Bangla lyrical emotion with global pop and Afro-inspired rhythms, reflecting a growing trend of Bangladeshi music engaging international audiences while remaining culturally grounded. The collaboration positions the song as a bridge between South Asian melodies and contemporary global sounds.

Speaking about the release, Qinetic Music said the project reflects its commitment to expanding the reach of Bangladeshi music through bold, cross-border collaborations. The label continues to focus on producing globally competitive content while nurturing local creativity.

KikiMoteleba rose to international attention with his Afrobeats-infused hit “Tigini”, which went viral across TikTok and YouTube and later achieved Gold certification in Spain following a successful remix with Spanish artist RVFV. His inclusion in “Shohag” adds a distinct African pop influence to the track.

Director Thejo Bharathwaj, who previously found global recognition with the viral Tamil hit “Aasa Kooda”, brings his signature storytelling style to the project. Currently associated with Theepetti Pictures, he continues to work across music videos and short films.

With “Shohag”, Qinetic Music, Tanishk Bagchi and KikiMoteleba come together on a release that highlights how Bangladeshi music is increasingly finding its place within a global soundscape.
