Bangladeshi rock vocalist Md Murtafa Mridha, popularly known as Night Raven, has released his debut solo single "Singing to Myself", marking his first official step into original English-language music. The rock ballad, now available on all major streaming platforms, was first written in 2018 during a period of personal introspection.

The earliest version of the track was composed on a ukulele gifted to him by former Guns N' Roses guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal.

Murtafa's musical journey began at the age of 13, when his school—International Turkish Hope School—took him to perform in Turkey, Denmark, and Sweden. Over the years, he gradually made a name for himself as a vocalist, though he had not released original material of his own until now.

Influenced by 70s and 80s rock ballads, "Singing to Myself" arrives at a time when English-language rock is slowly gaining ground in Bangladesh. The release has already earned supportive mentions from both local and international musicians familiar with his career, including Bumblefoot.

While his immediate focus is on domestic listeners, Murtafa hopes the single will help him reach audiences beyond Bangladesh. "Singing to Myself" is the first of several releases he has planned through early 2026.
