Aurthohin sees lineup change as two members depart
Bangladeshi rock band Aurthohin has announced a significant lineup change after drummer Mark Don and guitarist Ehtesham Ali revealed they are leaving the group.
The two musicians shared the news in separate Facebook posts on Thursday (March 5). Later in the evening, Aurthohin confirmed the development in an official statement on its social media pages.
The band also announced the return of guitarist Shishir Ahmed, who had previously left the group in 2023. Alongside him, Adnan Atik has joined the band as keyboardist and guitarist, while Sheikh M Riaz has come on board as a guest drummer.
Mark Don had been part of Aurthohin for nearly a decade. Paying tribute to his contribution, the band said a decade in music is like a lifetime and that his presence will remain in every beat of their albums and concerts.
Ehtesham Ali joined the band in January last year but has now stepped away after about a year with the group.
Addressing the changes, Aurthohin said that while faces in the lineup may change, the spirit of the band remains the same. The band added that it plans to return to the studio soon and begin preparing for upcoming live performances.
The group is led by bassist and vocalist Sumon, widely known among fans as Bassbaba. With the latest adjustments, the band’s current lineup consists of four members.
