Ashes set to release two albums this Eid

Popular rock band Ashes is preparing a major surprise for fans this Eid with the simultaneous release of two new albums — “Bibhrom” and “Danahin Pakhi”.

“Bibhrom” will feature nine tracks, while “Danahin Pakhi” will include eight songs. On Chand Raat, the band will unveil one song from each album, with the remaining tracks scheduled for release weekly thereafter.

According to the band, the songs are a compilation of work created over the past eight to ten years. Some tracks were previously performed at concerts and live shows but have never been officially released in album format. In addition to the two albums, Ashes will also drop a new track from a separate special project.

Frontman and vocalist Junaed Evan said the albums reflect extensive experimentation in both sound and concept. The core philosophy behind the songs revolves around “non-material happiness” — a reflection on joy beyond material pursuits.

Evan explained that modern life has become heavily materialistic, where happiness is often tied to possessions. Through these albums, the band aims to highlight the beauty of simple, intangible moments — such as watching the sky, enjoying rain or moonlight, and sharing genuine human connections. Themes of existential thought and inner conflict are also woven into the lyrics.

Ashes has also planned unconventional promotional activities. After Eid, the band intends to tour different districts with solo concerts featuring tracks from the two albums. They are additionally organising exclusive listening parties in the hills and by the sea.

Evan shared that selected fans will be invited to these intimate gatherings, where audiences will not only sing along but also hear the stories behind each song. Further details, however, are being kept under wraps as part of the surprise.

Last year, Ashes announced a humanitarian project titled “Manusher Jonno” (For Humanity), with plans to donate all proceeds from a 10-track album to support patients battling serious illnesses such as cancer, kidney disease and paralysis. None of the band members will take any remuneration from the project.

Between the release of the two Eid albums, the band will also unveil a new song under the “Manusher Jonno” initiative.

Evan said Ashes has long supported people in medical crises, including blood donation drives and financial assistance for those unable to afford treatment. However, the band felt a structured initiative was needed to reach more people. Through the new project, they aim to connect audiences emotionally with the struggles of patients and encourage broader support.
