Babita honoured with special birthday song ‘Our Dream Girl’

Legendary actress Babita, one of the most celebrated stars of the subcontinent, is set to celebrate her birthday on July 30. To mark the occasion, journalist Ovi Moinuddin has spearheaded a special musical tribute dedicated to the actress, overseeing the project from conception to completion.

Titled "Our Dream Girl", the song was penned by journalist Omar Faruk, while Shan Shaik composed and arranged the music. Recorded at Shan's Lab Studio, the track features vocals by Shan Shaik, Rashed, Shapla Paul, Joy, Raisa, and Tanjin Mithila.

The accompanying music video was directed by acclaimed filmmaker Md Shamsul Huda, with Naeem serving as cinematographer. Filming took place at Babita's residence in Gulshan, Dhaka, on July 22.

During the shoot, Ovi Moinuddin welcomed Babita with flowers and presented her with a special birthday gift on behalf of Looks. The actress also celebrated the occasion by cutting a birthday cake alongside the participating artistes. Through the song and its visuals, the artistes not only extend their birthday wishes to Babita but also pay tribute to her remarkable life and illustrious career.

Sharing her thoughts on the initiative, Babita said, "Many things have happened around me throughout my life, but a birthday song dedicated to me is truly something unique. I loved 'Our Dream Girl' so much that I still find it hard to believe such a beautiful song has been made about me. My heartfelt gratitude, love and prayers go to Abhi and the entire team."

For Shan Shaik, the project holds special significance. The composer described it as "one of the finest works of my life."

Singer Rashed said, "I feel incredibly honoured to be associated with such a song."

Shapla Paul added, "I never imagined I would be part of a project like this."
Joy shared, "There are moments in life that feel unbelievable. Being in the presence of Babita Madam still feels surreal."

Raisa remarked, "I found myself repeatedly admiring Babita Madam throughout the day."

Tanjin Mithila said, "Babita Madam is a source of pride for Bangladesh, and I felt that in every moment on July 22."

Reflecting on the journey behind the project, Ovi Moinuddin revealed that the idea had been in the works for five to six years.

"We had been discussing a birthday song for Babita Apa for years, and finally, with her consent, 'Our Dream Girl' became a reality. Every artiste delivered an outstanding performance. It is a dream fulfilled for me," he said.
