Right from the beginning, Chorki, the online streaming service, has stood out for its distinct choice of content. Superstar Shakib Khan’s production, “Maya”, received a government grant in the financial year of 2021-22. The film, which will star Puja Chery alongside the ‘King of Dhallywood’, will be directed by Himel Ashraf—who will also be directing another production featuring the actor, which is titled “Rajkumar”.

In the early hours of the morning, well known actor Sagar Huda breathed his last. The news was announced by filmmaker Mabrur Rashid Bannah, who shared a photo of himself with Sagar Huda on his verified Facebook page.

Ayan Mukerji’s “Brahmastra” is facing flak all over social media as people are digging up old clips from movies to troll its leading actors- Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Amitabh Bachchan for 'hurting religious sentiments'. Recently, I had the pleasure of attending the 4th edition of the Samabhav Traveling film Festival. The festival was held in celebration of gender diversity and inclusion, featuring films and discussions on gender, sexuality, masculinity and relationships. The event took place in Dhaka from August 21-22, with Sangat- A Feminist Network, One Billion Rising Bangladesh and BRAC James P Grant School of Public Health being the organising partners in Bangladesh.
