Zahid Hasan reunites with Raz after eight years for ‘Pothhara Mon’
Veteran actor Zahid Hasan has reunited with filmmaker Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Raz after an eight-year hiatus for the upcoming romantic drama “Pothhara Mon”.
The drama also stars Khairul Basar, Tanjim Saiara Totini and Deepa Khandakar, with Dr Ejazul Islam and Monira Akter Mithu appearing in key supporting roles.
According to Raz, “Pothhara Mon” explores love, emotional conflict and the complexities of human relationships.
“The story revolves around love, relationship struggles and human emotions. I wanted to create a narrative in which viewers can recognise moments from their own lives,” the director said.
Raz last directed Zahid Hasan in the seven-episode television series “Chelemanushi”, which aired in 2018.
Expressing his excitement about the reunion, Raz said, “I’m delighted to be working with Zahid Bhai again after such a long time. His performance has elevated the drama. We also have a wonderful team that brings together both experienced and younger actors.”
Zahid Hasan also welcomed the collaboration, saying he has always enjoyed working with the filmmaker.
“My experience of working with Raz has always been positive. It’s a pleasure to be back under his direction after so many years. The story is heartfelt, and my character is quite challenging. The atmosphere on set has also been fantastic,” he said.
Filming for “Pothhara Mon” began in Uttara, Dhaka, on July 10 and is scheduled to conclude today (July 14).
The story has been written by Zakia Hossain Trisha, while the screenplay was developed by Asad Zaman and Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Raz.
The drama is slated for release on the Cinemawala YouTube channel in the coming weeks.
