Speaking to The Daily Star about the project and his experience working with Mamdani, Zayed said, “Zohran Kwame Mamdani acted directly alongside me in this short film. The story revolves around immigrants living abroad. Being able to act with him is not only a matter of pride for me personally, but I believe it is also a matter of pride for Bangladesh and its red-and-green flag.”

When asked how the mayor became involved in the production, Zayed credited the efforts behind the scenes.

“It was made possible through Ruhin Hossain of Thikana and his wife, Mushrath Shaheen Anuva. They emailed Mamdani regarding the project and also shared details about me. After that, we had to wait for some time. Then the mayor’s office provided us with an available date, and we carried out the shooting accordingly,” he said.

Reflecting on the collaboration, Zayed added, “For me, having Zohran Kwame Mamdani join this project feels like a dream. He is a globally recognised celebrity mayor and a very influential figure. Even so, during filming, he repeatedly tried to perform according to the director’s instructions. After completing the work, it seemed to me that he was very happy with the experience.”
