Sumaiya Shimu returns to serial dramas after a long hiatus

Popular actress Sumaiya Shimu is set to return to serial television after a prolonged absence, taking on a lead role in director Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Raz’s upcoming drama “Fire Ashar Golpo”.

Once a familiar face in both standalone and serial television dramas, Shimu stepped away from regular acting commitments for several years due to personal reasons. She made a brief return to the screen with “Besura”, an episode from Nuhash Humayun’s anthology series “Dui Shaw”, where she said she hoped to resume acting if offered compelling stories and meaningful characters.

Continuing that comeback, the actress will now portray Rukaiya in “Fire Ashar Golpo”.

Production house Cinemawala Entertainment recently unveiled Shimu’s first look from the drama on social media. However, the actress has chosen not to reveal further details about the project or her character at this stage.

The new serial follows the success of Raz’s recent television drama “Eta Amaderi Golpo”, which received a positive response from audiences.

Preparations for “Fire Ashar Golpo” are currently underway, with filming expected to begin next month. Raz has also said that the remaining cast members will be announced in phases.
