Ilias Kanchan’s ongoing fight towards recovery

Popular actor and Chairman of Nirapad Sarak Chai (Nischa), Ilias Kanchan, who is undergoing treatment in London after being diagnosed with a brain tumour, has not shown the level of improvement many had hoped for.

Recent photographs of the veteran actor spending time with his daughter and family members in London sparked renewed interest among fans regarding his current health condition.

However, despite undergoing several rounds of therapy, there has been no significant visible improvement in his physical condition, according to Nischa founding member and Vice Chairman Liton Ershad.

Speaking to Channel i Online on Saturday (June 6) evening, Liton said, “Kanchan Bhai’s condition remains more or less the same. He has undergone several rounds of therapy, and another phase of treatment is currently underway. This will continue until July 30. After that, the doctors will evaluate his condition and determine the next course of action.”

Liton added that although Ilias Kanchan is now able to speak to some extent, his speech remains affected. Doctors are expected to have a clearer understanding of his progress once the current phase of therapy is completed.

The actor is currently staying at his daughter’s residence in London, where he is continuing his treatment and rehabilitation while surrounded by family members.

After months of medical examinations, Ilias Kanchan underwent brain surgery at a London hospital on August 5 last year. Following the operation, during which a significant portion of the tumour was removed, the veteran actor has remained under close medical supervision and has been receiving regular therapy.
