Céline Dion has announced her return to the stage, four years after being diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome that affected her voice and mobility.

The singer will perform a 10-night residency at the Paris La Défense Arena in September and October, marking her first live shows since 2020.

The announcement coincided with her 58th birthday. In a message shared on Instagram, Dion described the comeback as “the best gift of my life”.

“I’m so ready to do this,” she told fans. “I’m feeling good, I’m strong, I’m feeling excited, obviously, [and] of course, a little nervous.”

Addressing her health, Dion said she is managing her condition and gradually returning to performance. “I’m doing great, managing my health, feeling good. I’m singing again, even doing a little bit of dancing,” she said.

She also expressed gratitude to fans for their continued support. “Over these last few years, every day that’s gone by, I felt your prayers and support, your kindness and love. I am grateful to all of you. I can’t wait to see you again.”

Dion, known for hits such as “My Heart Will Go On” and “Because You Loved Me”, last performed in Newark, New Jersey on March 8, 2020, before her “Courage” tour was halted due to the Covid-19 pandemic and her subsequent diagnosis.

To accommodate her health, the upcoming concerts are spaced several days apart to minimise physical strain.

Tickets for the shows will go on sale from April 7, with high demand expected. Fans can register interest through her official website from March 31.
