Kabir-Lalon Bhabsangeet Festival in Barishal today

The Barishal chapter of the Kabir-Lalon Bhabsangeet Festival is being held at the auditorium of Barishal District Shilpakala Academy today.

Professor Mamun-Ur-Rashid, vice-chancellor of Barishal University, will inaugurate the programme at 5:30pm. Barishal City Corporation administrator Advocate Bilkis Akter Jahan Shirin will attend as chief guest.

Mamun Khandaker, deputy commissioner of Barishal, and Abu Saleh Md Raihan, commissioner of Barishal Metropolitan Police, will attend as special guests. Abdel Mannan, chief executive of Lalon Bishwashangha, will preside over the programme.

Joyonto Tarofder, director of the festival, confirmed the programme.

Organised by Lalon Bishwashangha with support from the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, the national festival began on September 11 and is being held across all eight divisions of the country.
