‘Bohemian Ghora’ wins popular choice award for Best Series

Hoichoi’s original web series "Bohemian Ghora" won the Popular Choice award for Best Drama/Series at the "Blender's Choice-The Daily Star OTT & Digital Content Awards 2025" on Friday evening (October 9). The annual ceremony, held at the Bangladesh China Friendship Conference Center (BCFCC), recognised top achievements across regional streaming media and digital content.

Directed by Amitabh Reza Chowdhury, the series centers on a whimsical truck driver, brilliantly portrayed by Mosharraf Karim, whose road trips navigate a complex web of love, relationships, infidelity and consequences. Known for his intense dramatic portrayals in “Mohanagar” and “Mobaraknama”, the acclaimed actor takes on an unconventional comic role alongside an ensemble female cast featuring Tanzika Amin, Runa Khan, Moushumi Hamid, Sadia Ayman, Jui Karim, Farhana Hamid Atti, Aditi, and Brishti.

Alongside its top popular win, the production earned several major award nominations, including Best Actor (Mosharraf Karim), Best Director (Amitabh Reza Chowdhury), Best Supporting Actress (Runa Khan), and Best Supporting Actor (Rakib Hossain Evon).

Highlighting the vision behind the narrative, director Amitabh Reza Chowdhury described the show as an exploration of human truth through humor and road-trip drama. "I try to seek truth through cinema," Chowdhury noted. "I’ve attempted to explore one version of truth through making ‘Bohemian Ghora’ and the rest is for the audience to witness."
