Will take immediate steps against Bashundhara MD if Gulshan police requisitions: DB

Detectives will take immediate steps against Bashundhara Group Managing Director if Gulshan police seek help in a case filed against him on charge of abetting suicide of a young woman.

Harun or Rashid, joint commissioner (North) of Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said this today while replying to a query after arresting five persons from Dhaka's Uttara area, following a case filed by actress Pori Moni with Savar Police Station.

Sister of the young woman filed a case against Bashundhara MD Sayem Sobhan Anvir after police recovered her dead body from a flat in Dhaka's Gulshan area on April 26.

Her family members expressed frustration as police are yet to arrest Anvir.

"Yes, we arrested many, including Mamunul Haque (former Hefajat leader), within shortest possible time. We take immediate steps whenever an investigation officer of a case requests or requisitions us to arrest someone," Harun said.
