Man who ‘embezzled’ Tk 10 crore Titas gas bill arrested in Ctg

Rab claims to have arrested a man who allegedly embezzled Tk 10 crore Titas gas bill, instead of depositing to national treasury after collecting the money from customers.

A team of Rab arrested Md Faruk from Chattogram last night, said Mozammel Haque, commanding officer of Rab-4.

The Rab official said Faruk used to run an agent banking service at Mirpur 60 feet area and collected utility bills from nearly 1,500 customers.

He cleared the electricity and water bills in time but did not deposit gas bills for about two years, embezzling Tk 10 crore, he said.

Rab will hold a press conference later in the day to disclose details.
