BNP leader Nipun Roy placed on a 3-day remand
BNP's central executive committee member Nipun Roy Chowdhury was placed on a three-day remand today in connection with a case filed for conspiring to sabotage during Hefajat-e-Islam's hartal.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Mamunur Rashid passed the order after Investigation Officer Sudip Kumar Biswas, also sub-inspector of Hazaribagh Police Station, produced Nipun before the court with a seven-day remand prayer in the case, court sources said.
The magistrate also placed Haji Arman Hossain, vice-president of Jubo Dal's Keraniganj thana unit, on a three-day remand in the same case.
Earlier in the day, Sub-Inspector Joyanto Kumar Dey of Rab-2 filed a case against BNP leader Nipun Roy Chowdhury and her party men – Haji Arman Hossain, Khorshed Zamidar, Aslam and Shahin Rahman under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
Some ten to eleven unknown people were also made accused in the case.
