BGB seized 7 kg gold, 11,000 bottles of Phensedyl on Jashore border in 5 months

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have seized over seven kilogrammes of gold, 11,000 bottles of Phensedyls and other smuggled goods worth around Tk 10 crore after conducting drives in various border areas of Jashore in the last five months.

During this period, the BGB members also arrested 73 alleged smugglers along with drugs and smuggled goods, said Lt Col Selim Reza, commanding officer of BGB battalion-49 in a press release today. 

Other goods seized during the period include 204 yaba tablets, 197 bottles of foreign liquor, 348kg of cannabis, the BGB commanding officer added.
